MAJOR TRAUMA

Major traumatic injuries involving significant tissue loss can require complex reconstruction.

Reconstructive surgery following an acute major trauma can include reattachment of amputated fingers, skin grafts, flaps and microvascular free flaps. Dr Mackay can also assist with reconstruction of a deformity following recovery from a major trauma including scars.

Reconstruction following a traumatic incident can assist in the salvage and restoration of function of the affected area. This is not without significant rehabilitation and therapy following the procedure.
